My name is Malachi Shaw and I am the blacksmith and bladesmith behind Shaw Smithery. Inspired by my ironworking grandfather, I started blacksmithing at 13 in hopes of forging hard use knives. My first forge was a 30 oz can of beans heated with a turkey burner in my family’s rural Texas workshop. Since then, I have slowly improved at general forging and bladesmithing. Over the past few years I have endeavored to build my business to fund this educational endeavor and support my passion.
